The Rewa Provincial Holding Company Limited Board of Directors completed a half day workshop on Wednesday 18 May 2016 covering the relevant duties of Board Directors and officers under the 2015 Companies Act. The workshop was facilitated by Ms Wati Seeto, the Manager Legal for the Reserve Bank of Fiji and was held at the company boardroom in Suva.
The four main areas covered included a relook at the definition of who is a Director, the general duties of Directors under section 103 to section 109, their specific duties and responsibilities and the consequences of breach under the Act.
Company Chairman, Mr Nemani Buresova said “the workshop helped our Directors to clarify their roles and responsibilities which will now be taken seriously”. He added that “this is a good start as the company continue to work towards improving it’s corporate governance to build an effective and efficient Board”
